AnjTalksAbout: Her List of Obsessions

There is this Facebook meme from UrijahJohn which I shared on my page. It says that if you’re a real friend, name something I’m obsessed with.

Merriam-Webster describes ‘obsession’ as “a state in which someone thinks about someone or something constantly or frequently especially in a way that is not normal“. I was curious to see who’d get it right and looking at the answers I got, I say that some are pretty spot on.

For this post (and everyone’s information, I suppose), here are my top five obsessions:

1. Stars.

Accessories from Khrafteesi

I don’t remember exactly how this started but I have this core memory (hahaha, Inside Out reference right there) of me and this astronomy book with a map of the stars. When we moved to our current house, I could see the sky better so I brought the book out and looked at which constellations are visible. I learned how to spot Orion and his belt then. (I also taught Allan-niisama how to spot this constellation.) I have liked stars since then. It goes from looking at the sky and figuring out the constellations, to actually following NASA and learning more about astronomy, to my fashion accessories and well, clothes (totally spazzed out over the galaxy print).

2. Cardcaptor Sakura

A charm I bought online from a seller, no particular store

I remember starting out as a Time Travel Tondekeman and Sailormoon fan. I saw a bunch of anime but Cardcaptor Sakura left the biggest impression of all — to the extent that I want to be a maho shoujo like her. She wears pretty clothes, has this positive outlook in life, and can use magic. What more can a girl ask for? 😀 I buy merchandise and a bunch of CCS-related things. The most expensive bag I own is an official Cardcaptor Sakura tote bag. Haven’t had a chance to use the bag yet. Hahaha. Cherry blossoms are officially my favorite flower — all because of this anime.

3. Cats

I will be honest; I see cats the way regular men see shoes. I don’t know many cat breeds. I only label them as fluffy cats, grumpy cat, lovely cat, etc. but I consider myself as a cat person. Then again, I am more of a cat in human form. I don’t trust humans upon first meeting but would warm up gradually. I like nyaa-ing too. Hahaha. I am also in love with Neko Atsume. It’s one of the games I play a lot even if there’s not much to do in it.

4. Books

I love to read. It is a immediate comfort I have that is universally accepted. I hoard books. I collect books from various writers. I hunt down books I couldn’t find in bookstores. I also sell books in order to keep myself financially afloat and well, make more shelf space. I never leave the house without a book in tow; otherwise, I find myself bored (even with my phone) and well, alone. Books keep me company during the days I am alone. I even go to and join book

5. 18th Century Fashion

This is one fashion style I absolutely adore ever since I could remember. This is how I came to like Lolita and steampunk — both are modern ways to wear clothes from the 18th century. I love watching movies in that setting and just… wish I could wear their clothes. I wish to live at that era and wear corsets and long skirts. It’s not like I haven’t done that in this age (ahem Steampunk ahem) but I have yet to wear the full style.

So there you have it. What are your top five obsessions? Feel free to share in the comments section below. 😀

XOXO,
Anj
